HEAVY GLUTE SESS! 🍑
I realized before I went to Sri Lanka I was putting a load of stress on my body, not only with work but then doing some grueling conditioning classes (because mentally I fucking love them) I could tell my hormones were not happy.
My sleep wasn’t great.
My energy levels weren’t my usual duracell bunny type.
I was actually putting on weight rather than maintaining (hence keeping cortisol low is essential)
Strength training really is a game changer.
Improved Bone Health.
Lowers Cortisol.
Better Cardiovascular Health.
Increased Energy Levels.
Lower Abdominal Fat.
Improved Mood.
Better Flexibility and Mobility.
Elevated Body Image.
Enhanced Brain Health.
Strong not skinny.
You don’t need to be dying of sweat and gasping for air to make it a good workout.
3 x weight sessions a week is absolutely enough to see the benefits and build lean muscle mass.
Watch the bod get tighter, stronger and more defined!
So here’s a lower weight focused workout you can do with little equipment in a corner of the gym -
3 sets x 12 reps of
Pistol squats
DB step ups
Superman’s (be careful to not over extend your back)
Single leg elevated glute bridge each side
Plated/weighted glute bridge (you can use a DB)
Elevated DB reverse lunge each side
Bulgarian split squats each side
RDLs (keep feet and legs together for more glute engagement)
Take your time. Focus on form. Pause at the bottom for more effect.

I want to start by firstly saying that IVF is incredible and has helped so many women who have struggled to conceive, but I am explaining here that it doesn’t have to be your only answer.
IVF can also be incredibly traumatic as there is an increased risk of pregnancy complications, not forgetting how long the process can take and the cost!
I want to raise awareness about the long term damage the pill can have - and although you can still get pregnant of course after being on the pill, it might seriously DELAY your chances because your natural ovulation can take a long time to return.
Birth control floods our bodies with high doses of artificial estrogen and progesterone, causing our production of natural hormones to turn off, preventing ovulation, inducing fake periods and thinning the uterus lining.
This creates hormone imbalances and side effects such as mood swings, no libido, irritability, chronic fatigue, anxiety, panic attacks, depression and more.
 Studies now show that the pill changes the chemicals related to smell and attraction - so women who come off the pill suddenly don’t find their partner sexy anymore?!
Madness if you ask me.
Most women are told to go on the pill at 16 and stay on it until they want a baby.
They don’t tell you that your hormones will be suppressed, ovulation might take ages to return therefore you might struggle to start a family right away.
There are other ways you can prevent getting pregnant whilst not taking the pill.
Having regular cycles and ovulating every month is a sign of OPTIMAL FEMALE HEALTH!
It’s your body, but please do consider the options before taking any medication, do your research and fully understand the implications.
It breaks my heart how many women I have messaging me on a daily basis struggling to start a family - and the common denominator is pill abuse for years.
Why are our doctors STILL not telling us this when infertility is the highest it’s EVER been?!
$$$$$ has something to do with it if you ask me.

I’m using this FANTASTIC day of life to take the time to say THANK YOU!
I actually had a bit of a cry after I filmed this and realised I would certainly not be on this planet if it wasn’t for all the incredible females in my life so that deserves the biggest round of applause immediately.
It’s very rare in this rat race world we live in to actually stop and take the time to show gratitude.
When do you really thank your mum for being a total diamond- washing your dirty knickers, cooking you dinner, driving you to Timbuktu and back for all the 18th birthdays, watching every single school play or sports match, basically dropping their own life for yours.
Mums of the world - you are incredible.

Do you know if you’re actually ovulating?
Do you realize you can still have regular periods WITHOUT ovulating?!
So many women come to me struggling to conceive, not understanding that even though they are regular - ovulation is essential to create a little human.
BUT - all women want to be ovulating each month - not just to get pregnant.
WHY?
It’s an elegant system that delivers the ovarian hormones that the body wants and needs.
It literally makes our hormones - estrogen and progresterone.
The whole-body benefits of ovulation are starting to show up in the research.
For example, a recent British Medical Journal study found that women live longer if they have a history of regular, natural menstrual cycles.
The long-term benefits of estrogen include muscle gain, improved insulin sensitivity, and a reduced risk of osteoporosis, dementia and heart disease.
The long-term benefits of progesterone include lowered inflammation and a reduced risk of thyroid disease, osteoporosis, and breast cancer.
Almost all types of hormonal birth control including pills, rods, injections and patches work by stopping ovulation.
Such methods switch off ovarian hormones and replace them with contraceptive drugs like ethinylestradiol and levonorgestrel, which are not the same as estradiol and progesterone and so can cause a huge host of nasty side effects - some you might not even realise like changing our smell and who we are attracted to!!!
This is why I am very anti birth control and wish there was more education around how essential ovulation is to female health.
You ovulate around day 14 of your cycle, so 2 signs to look out for are-
- Increase on body temp typically less than half a degree but still track it to see
- Egg white discharge - this is cervical mucus preparing for the little sperm to have an easy old swim up to the egg! 🏊‍♀️
How can we increase our chances of ovulation?
- anti-inflammatory foods
- take inositol
- half an 🥑 a day keeps your hormones at bay
- De-stresssssssss
- reduce alcohol and tobacco
- optimise sleep
-incorp yoga / pilates
- Hydration

Do you get worried before going on holiday that you’re going to un-do all your hard work and come back feeling like a swollen puffa fish?
Has it stopped you from enjoying yourself and fully letting your hair down?
When I first started my PCOS journey and believed you had to be so controlled and restricted, it effected pretty much every trip I went on.
I didn’t allow myself to try anything new, even though I desperately wanted to.
I’d force myself out of bed early just to try and get a run in to ‘burn more calories’.
My brain would be consumed about how bloated I looked in a bikini, which made me have the smallest portions - again not enjoying the local cuisines or the bread and alioli!
As soon as the penny dropped and I understood more about energy balance and not looking at any foods as ‘bad’, things became a lot easier.
I also realized that one slightly ‘off’ week would not un-do all my hard work
I changed my mindset that exercise was a chore on holiday, and actually realized just walking and exploring can really help keep the weight off!
I make sure to pick as much unprocessed whole foods as fresh as poss, loading up on protein to keep me satisfied for longer.
I share as much food as possible to make sure I could get a variety of flavors, but not over indulge on the meals that might not be the best for my PCOS.
But the biggest thing was realizing you are put on this planet ONCE and when food is such a huge part of life enjoyments, it’s not one to be left out - ever.
So next time you go on holiday, please don’t restrict yourself fully.
Have the pizza. Eat the ice cream.
The trick is to be mindful and get back on the horse when you return!

Hair loss is possibly the most under-rated symptom

Hair loss is possibly the most under-rated symptom of PCOS, and for anyone in general as it hits your self confidence harrrrd and can make you feel super self conscious.
I remember balling my eyes out as I brushed my hair seeing clumps fall out all over the floor, literally having a guinea pigs tail resemble my pony. 😭
But the fab news is - it can grow back - even healthier and thicker than before!!
Yes it will take some time.
No it won’t happen overnight.
But like anything in life, consistency is key and patience does pay off!
Here are my little tips and tricks to implement from today so you can have your luscious locks back in no time!!
- Stick to an anti-inflammatory diet as much as poss
- Less is more - stop going mad on so many products, it actually can make it worse
- Don’t wash your hair everyday
- Supplement ZINC - absolute life changer. Be warned you might experience baby hairs that stand up but who cares
- Remove inflammation from your diet so limit caffeine, gluten, dairy, processed crap and alcohol
- Manage stress - absolutely crucial girls. Bring that cortisol dowwwnnn stop the mental workouts and over-working
- Yoga, meditation, breathwork
- Orlaplex
- Prioritise sleep
- Find yourself a good hairdresser go knows their stuff!! @johnmeighanhair wizard 🧙‍♀️
Remember - Rome wasn’t built in a day so neither will your lid return tomorrow, but make the little changes, trust the process and you’ll be back to Rapunzel in no time!
